NCB PROTECTION STATEMENT
NCB protection does not protect the overall price of your insurance policy. The price of your insurance policy may increase following an accident even if you were not at fault. NCB protection allows you to make one or more claims before your number of no claims bonus years falls.
DRIVING IN THE EU
From the 1st January 2021 you will now need to obtain a green card for the vehicle you are driving if you’re driving in the EU (including Ireland), EEA, Switzerland, Serbia or Andorra.
A ‘green card’ is proof of motor insurance cover when driving abroad.
You must carry a physical copy of your green card when driving abroad. Electronic versions of green cards are not acceptable.
The UK Government advises that you can now print green cards yourself. They no longer need to be printed on green paper.
You should contact us obtain a green card both for your car and, if you are towing, for the trailer or caravan as well. There may be an administrative cost involved.
You will need to show green cards if you are involved in a road traffic collision. You may need to show green cards at police checks and at the border when entering the EU/EEA or moving between EU/EEA countries. This is likely to depend on the authorities at the border of each country.
